Children’s Liturgy

Children are a very important group in our parishes and are the future Church.  It is necessary that God’s Word is explained and made more meaningful for them.
The first part of the Mass includes a scripture reading in a way they understand using stories, singing songs, drawing pictures, etc.

At the Offertory the children process with their gifts to the altar and rejoin their parents in the Church.
It is generally felt that the Parish has been enriched by Children’s Liturgy.   Parents can enjoy, and take an active part, in the Mass, knowing that their children are being instructed and cared for.
The usual ages of the children taking part are 3½ to 9 years of age.
If you are interested in joining one of our dedicated groups of catechists for Children’s Liturgy please speak to one of the priests or deacons.
